The Drums for Peace world’s organization in the years 2000 and 2001 was carried out byAssociação NovaCenter for Social Innovation in Barcelona, and in Brazil by Imagens Educação.

- 2001 -
Between 21st and 25th June of 2001 four Alliance’s continental meetings took place in Dar Es Salam (Tanzania), Bangalore (India), Peles (Rumania), Quito (Ecuador), and a regional meeting in Beirut (Lebanon), as a preparation conference for the Alliance’s World Meeting to be held in Lille, France, in December 2001.

In those meetings, each group could make known their proposals in their cities regarding a more pacific and united world, by playing the “Drums For Peace”. A number of 60 thousand people were reported to have taken part all over the world.

In Brazil, at SESC SP (Commerce Social Service) and the Alliance were the event organizers together with Imagens Educação. Around 40 thousand people were reported to have taken part in the meetings held at the Sesc’s units in São Paulo and other states in Brazil.

Institutions, NGO’s, schools, artists, educators, social movement leaders and ordinary citizens showed their wish to awaken awareness for a more just and united world.

This movement was supported by many institutions such as Pólis Institute, Sou da Paz, Rede Mundial de Artistas em Aliança, Cives, Ação Educativa, Instituto Ecoar, Movimento Ética é Cidadania – Psicodrama da Cidade, ABONG...

- 2002 -
Sesc São Paulo carried out Peace Square Meetings in all its units in the state of São Paulo with the support from Alliance São Paulo Group. The world organization for the Drums for Peace was handed over to be carried out from Brazil by Imagens Educação, Shalom Salam Paz NGO, Ágora Institute in Defense of Voters and Citizenship with Fersol’s support and other associates.

- 2003 -
In 2003 with the organization carried out by Imagens Educação and other associate institutions from the
Alliance São Paulo Group we started the year with a participation in the
World Social Forum in January and in the Peace Carnival late February/ March.
