Dear Allies,

We invite you to take part in the launch of Drums of Peace site, which will be held at São Paulo’s Public Library, on Tuesday, 13th May. Besides the site, we will present Notebook of Proposals and the Human Responsibilities Letter. We will also launch the Tam Tam video.

We would like that those who cannot come, may share this moment with us. So, we invite you all to access the site www.tamtamforpeace.org on 13th May and enter the Tam Tam Forum to have a chat about the movement.
We will be happy to take any comments or criticisms.

Launching

Workshop on the Building of Rhythm and Percussion Instruments at
BMA (Central Library)

BMA1.- Bilblioteca Mário de Andrade da Secretaria Municipal de Cultura de São Paulo – together with COE – Special Coordination for Black Population Issues of São Paulo City Hall – offered during March, April and May a workshop on the building of rhythm and percussion instruments under the coordination of composer and percussionist Lumumba.
The workshops took place every Thursday from 14:00 to 17:00 and on Saturdays from 9:00 to 12:00 until May 8th.
The ultimate goal was the creation of a Drums Orchestra. The Orchestra’s launch happened on 13th May 2003 in front of the library at D. José Gaspar square at 17h30 together with the release of the new site and the video Drums for Peace and the booklet Propositions for Century 21st by the Alliance for a Responsible, Plural and United World.
