The DRUMS FOR PEACE MOVEMENT is an endeavor that seeks to construct a culture of peace through artistic manifestations.
The action is open to any citizen or institution, which can set up their own groups to develop actions to stimulate reflection and actions towards peace. Although the drum is the movement’s symbol, any form of expression can be used. To take part in it, all you have to do is to subscribe your group or activity by clicking on “Subscribe ” on the home page at www.tamtamforpeace.org site or by sending an e-mail to info@tamtamforpeace.org.br with the necessary information to publicize your group/event.
You are also encouraged to send us photos and videos of your participation, which can be inserted either in Tam-Tam site or in the video and CD-rom which are being made. The text of Human Duties Letter, collectively written by the allied, men and women from many countries, can serve as a kick-off to start action and reflection work to build a Culture of Peace. |

Drums are a symbol of communication (tam-tam) In the past, the drums were played to announce war. They were also played in rituals to bring fertility to earth and to heal. We now want to play them to call for Peace. We understand that differences will never be solved with deaths and violence. We are fed up with false discourses that kill human-beings to save interests. We want to hear other sounds and other voices. We want to build a Culture of Peace for the re-enchantment of the world.
